The year 1952 was the year of the Helsinki Olympic Games, and it was also an important year for the Peltola family in Tampere. Oiva Peltola founds Peltolan Pussi Oy. He builds the first machine himself and begins making paper bags downstairs in his own house, which he has also built. The first factory-built machine is bought in 1952 from the Holweg factory in France.

Oiva and Eva Peltola do everything themselves as an entrepreneur couple. Oiva Peltola travels around Finland, gets orders and paper for bags, makes the bags and takes care of deliveries. Eva Peltola, meanwhile, takes care of the company’s paperwork and looks after the couple’s big family.
